Lead HVAC Commissioning Engineer at Complii
PH Water & Air Technologies is looking for an experienced HVAC Commissioning Engineer to join our expanding team in the London / South London area. We are a company that has been operating since 2004, consistently improving industry standards through the expertise of our engineering staff.
Base pay: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum, depending on experience. Benefits include company pension, health care, 25 days annual holiday + public holidays, a financial loyalty bonus and a competitive employee referral bonus scheme (up to £1,500). The role is full‑time, 40 hours a week, with travel and overtime opportunities available on weekends and other times.
Responsibilities:
* Commission, test, and balance HVAC systems across commercial, industrial, and residential projects, ensuring installation, testing and operation meet client specifications, health & safety regulations and industry standards.
* Perform initial checks, troubleshooting and system adjustments for optimal efficiency.
* Coordinate with project managers, engineers and subcontractors during installation and commissioning and provide technical support and guidance to clients and team members.
* Conduct air and water balancing by adjusting dampers, valves and air handling units, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes, regulations and health & safety legislation.
* Prepare and maintain comprehensive commissioning documentation, including test results and system configurations, and identify opportunities to enhance system performance or reduce energy consumption.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as an HVAC Commissioning Engineer with strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems (chilled water, heating, ventilation, ASHP/CHP systems) and familiarity with HVAC commissioning tools and BMS systems (e.g., Trend).
* Relevant qualifications such as CSA, NVQ Level 3 in HVAC, City & Guilds or equivalent, with a solid understanding of industry standards and regulations including BSRIA, CIBSE and HVCA commissioning practices.
* Strong problem‑solving abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the capacity to work independently or collaboratively with clients, contractors and stakeholders.
* Health & safety awareness, a full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to various sites, with the capability to mentor junior engineers and support training as needed.
