Apprenticeship Summary
* Salary: £7.55 per hour
* Working Week: Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 3:15pm (30-minute break)
* Hours: 30 hours per week
* Training: Online apprenticeship training supported by skilled tutors
* Qualification: Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship

The Role
We are seeking a motivated and caring Early Years Educator Apprentice to join our nursery or reception team at Wavertree CE School. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting young children in a nurturing educational environment. You will work alongside qualified Early Years Educators, supporting the planning and delivery of purposeful play and helping to ensure each child's welfare, development and learning.
You will play a key role in supporting children's early development, contributing to a positive and safe environment and upholding our school's values of love, peace and harmony.
Main Duties
* Promote the welfare and safety of children and report any safeguarding concerns to the designated person.
* Support the planning and delivery of purposeful play activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
* Work collaboratively with parents, colleagues and external agencies to meet individual children's needs.
* Support children's understanding of healthy life choices through engaging and age-appropriate activities.
* Seek out continuous professional development throughout the apprenticeship programme.
* Use effective communication and knowledge of child development to engage with children, including those needing additional support.
* Support children through transitions such as starting school or the arrival of a new sibling.
* Participate in respectful care routines such as feeding, nappy changing and dental care.
* Meet deadlines set by the training provider and work closely with your mentor to develop your skills, knowledge and behaviours.
* Support children's numeracy, literacy and language development through a range of purposeful play activities.
The Candidate
Desired Skills & Experience
* GCSE Grades 4–9 (A*–C) or equivalent in English and Maths.
* Good communication skills with the ability to engage positively with young children.
* Understanding of child development or a strong interest in early years education.
* Ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents.
* Strong organisational skills and willingness to learn.

Training and Development
As an apprentice, you will be supported through both on-the-job learning and formal training as part of your Level 3 Early Years Educator programme. This will include:
* Study towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification
* On-the-job training and mentoring from experienced Early Years practitioners
* Regular review meetings to track progress and development
* Opportunities to gain skills in planning, observation and assessment within EYFS
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end? The successful candidate will obtain a Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship standard qualification.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship? Potential full-time employment for the right candidate upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
