Job Title: Base Manager
Location: Wrexham
Salary: £45k-£50k
My client is a leading provider of environmental industrial services and emergency response - bulk waste, tankering, transfer station, hazardous waste, emergency oil spills. They are seeking a Base Manager within their Site Services Division to oversee all site operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee day-to-day operations of the base, ensuring delivery of services in line with company objectives and service standards.
* Support the implementation and enforcement of company policies, procedures, and ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001).
* Manage and lead base-level teams; monitor performance, promote staff development, and address training needs in coordination with HR/Admin.
* Maintain compliance with HSEQ standards, performing regular checks and leading local improvements in safety and quality together with HSEQ Director.
* Report base-level IMS-related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) monthly to support risk management and continuous improvement.
* Act as a local ambassador of company safety culture, providing coaching and mentoring on HSEQ practices to base staff.
* Lead or support local incident response as needed, coordinating with regional and central teams.
* Conduct or support internal and external audits at base level to ensure ongoing compliance.
* Liaise with operations and sales teams to contribute safety and technical input to tenders or client requests.
* Visit other bases when required to share best practices or assist with operational reviews.
Person Profile
Essential:
* Proven experience managing operational teams, preferably in environmental and industrial services.
* Demonstrated leadership and team development capabilities.
* Ability to analyze and act on performance data.
* Willingness to travel occasionally and respond to incidents as needed.
Desirable:
* Experience with audits and maintaining ISO certifications.
