About the company:
A fast‑growing, government‑approved and UKAS‑accredited organisation in the building services sector is looking for a commercially minded Business Account Manager to join its head office team in Mansfield. The business provides a broad range of services to trade and corporate clients, including certification schemes, trade association services, industry training, software and publications, and has a strong reputation for raising standards and safety across the UK.
The opportunity:
Reporting to the Head of Commercial, you will own and develop relationships with key corporate accounts, driving revenue growth from existing clients and identifying new commercial opportunities across the organisation’s portfolio of services. This is a client‑facing, strategic role for someone who enjoys building long‑term partnerships, collaborating with internal stakeholders and delivering tangible commercial results.
Key responsibilities:
* Act as primary point of contact for a portfolio of key corporate clients, building strong, long‑term relationships.
* Identify opportunities to upsell and cross‑sell services such as scheme memberships, training, technical products and software solutions in line with client needs.
* Develop and execute account plans to increase revenue, retention and client satisfaction.
* Lead commercial negotiations, agree terms and close deals that support sustainable, profitable growth.
* Provide structured market and client feedback to internal teams to support product and service development.
* Maintain accurate records, reporting and forecasts using CRM and internal systems.
* Identify suitable tender opportunities and support bid preparation as required.
About you:
* Proven B2B experience in a certification, membership, compliance, technical services or related environment is strongly preferred.
* Track record of managing and growing key or strategic accounts, with strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
* Comfortable working with CRM systems and MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with strong self‑organisation and planning skills.
* Experience of tender preparation and winning bids would be a strong advantage.
* Willingness to travel extensively across the UK to meet clients when required.
