In this role, you will work in a safe, accurate, and efficient manner, performing standard warehouse operations and acting as a lead warehouse person within your team. You'll also be required to deputise for the Warehouse Team Leader responsibilities during periods of holiday, sickness, or absence. Key responsibilities include: Taking responsibility for the quality of work produced by the team, including resource planning and utilisation. Ensuring all health and safety in the warehouse area and compliance with operating procedures, utilising computer and manual systems to achieve agreed operational targets. Analysing and resolving standard operational problems, including adept use of Warehouse Management/SAP Systems. Being responsible for staff, performance, and absence management, with the ability to confidently deputise for the team leader in their absence. Supporting the warehouse team leader with continuous improvement projects and embracing operational change. Supervising workload, managing holiday and sickness/absence, and conducting staff performance reviews. Proven ability to plan, organise, and prioritise workload effectively, even when priorities shift. Experience in managing and motivating a team to achieve high standards, adapting your approach to individual needs. Demonstrated experience in performance management, including addressing poor performance constructively. A confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills, capable of managing challenging stakeholder/colleague relationships and resolving workplace conflicts effectively. Adaptable and positive when faced with operational change, able to understand its rationale and leverage it to your advantage. Basic IT skills and good levels of literacy and numeracy. Previous warehouse experience with a good knowledge of WMS/SAP systems. Knowledge of health & safety. A strong desire to achieve departmental goals and a commitment to continuous improvement.
