Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation and conducting of auctions, including cataloguing items and setting up the live online auction.
* Learn to conduct live auctions under the guidance of experienced auctioneers.
* Engage with clerks during auctions, providing information about items and encouraging participation.
* Maintain accurate records of bids and sales during auctions.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations before, during, and after each auction event.
* Participate in training sessions to enhance your auctioneering skills and knowledge of the industry.
Requirements
* A keen interest in auctions, jewellery, watches, antiques, and collectibles is highly desirable.
* Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to speak fluently and confidently in live auctions.
* Excellent numerical accuracy.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and think on your feet.
* Computer literate and comfortable with online platforms.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* A willingness to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
* Previous experience in sales or customer service would be advantageous but is not essential.
* Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as required by auction schedules.
