Our Commercial & Industrial division designs, fabricates and constructs structural steelwork for a variety of different sectors including commercial offices, stadia & leisure, industrial & distribution, data centres, retail and health and education.
The division has manufacturing sites in three locations: Dalton, Lostock, and Enniskillen. Each has full-service capabilities and modern manufacturing processes enabling us to provide a high-quality product to a variety of different sectors. Each of our sites has its own strong reputation in the market and between them cover a wider geographical area, including Europe. They continue to set the bar high in their highly complex market!
We are looking for an Apprentice Mechanic to join our team in September 2025!
Vacancy Details
In the Apprentice Mechanic position you will work under the guidance of experienced mechanics to learn how to inspect, service, and repair vehicles or machinery. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone looking to build a career in the mechanical trade.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in diagnosing mechanical issues in vehicles/machinery.
* Perform basic maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
* Clean and maintain the workshop and tools.
* Learn how to use diagnostic equipment and tools safely and correctly.
* Follow instructions from senior mechanics and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
* Keep accurate records of work performed and parts used.
* Adhere to all safety and environmental regulations.
As part of your apprenticeship, you will work towards a Level 2 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair for the first 2 years, before progressing to the Level 3 programme for the final 2 years (4 years total).
Please note that the Level 2 is delivered in Enniskillen (at the Skills Centre), but the Level 3 is only offered at Omagh campus. Therefore,you would be required to travel to Omagh campus during the 3rd and 4th years of your apprenticeship.
We are looking for hardworking individuals who have the enthusiasm and willingness to learn this exciting trade.
Interviews and assessments will be held between 30/07/2025 and 07/08/2025, with a start date in early September. You will need to be accepted onto the college course to be eligible to complete an Apprenticeship with us.
