Maintenance Technician

Outsource UK is recruiting on behalf of a respected textiles manufacturer in Sudbury, Suffolk, for an experienced and proactive Maintenance Technician to join their technical team.
The Role: As a Maintenance Technician you'll play a vital role in the mechanical maintenance of weaving machinery – including rapier dobby and jacquard looms – to ensure optimal machine performance, minimal downtime, and product quality. This is a hands-on, varied role requiring both preventative and reactive maintenance in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out maintenance on powered weaving equipment to ensure maximum efficiency.
* React promptly to technical issues reported by Weavers to minimise machine downtime.
* Support ongoing machine performance improvements aligned with KPIs in quality, safety, and productivity.
* Log all maintenance work for traceability.
* Perform bench repairs and contribute to continuous improvement projects.
* Work collaboratively with the Engineering Manager, Senior Technician, and Weaving Team.
* Contribute to monthly engineering meetings and risk assessments.
About You: Required:
* Solid mechanical background and confident with hand tools.
* Strong problem-solving skills with an inquisitive, methodical approach.
* Ability to manage workload independently and follow technical instruction.
* Excellent communication skills for clear shift handovers and team collaboration.
* Comfortable working at height and in a physically demanding role.
* Willingness to work unsociable hours/shifts as required.
* Basic computer literacy.
