They’re seeking a Solution Architect (Manager) with strong public sector and consulting experience, capable of shaping end-to-end solutions for government or enterprise clients. The right person will combine technical depth with strong stakeholder management, leading cross-functional agile teams to design and deliver impactful, secure, and scalable systems.
Please note: Due to the nature of the work, all applicants must be eligible for SC (Security Check) clearance. This typically requires having lived and worked in the UK for at least the past 5 years.
The Role
You’ll lead multidisciplinary teams to design and deliver complex, modern software solutions. Working closely with client-side architects and senior stakeholders, you’ll define technical strategies, manage delivery risk, and ensure designs meet both business objectives and user needs. You’ll also manage and mentor a small team of engineers and architects, supporting their development and driving technical excellence across projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead agile teams in architecting and delivering scalable, cloud-based solutions.
* Define end-to-end solution architectures for complex, multi-tiered systems.
* Collaborate with customer architects to align on design direction and technology choices.
* Balance functional and non-functional requirements while advising on trade-offs.
* Act as a technical leader and coach, supporting team growth and maintaining high delivery standards.
* Stay current with emerging technologies, frameworks, and delivery approaches.
Essential Experience
* Proven background designing and delivering software solutions for modern, multi-tier architectures.
* Deep understanding of solution architecture principles and effective design communication.
* Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure (SaaS, PaaS).
* Strong track record within public sector consulting, designing solutions for government or regulated industries.
* Skilled at engaging with senior stakeholders and making sound technical decisions under pressure.
* Experience mentoring or managing technical teams in agile environments.
* Eligible for SC clearance (minimum 5 years UK residency).
Desirable Experience
* Accountability for delivery across large-scale or multi-team programmes.
* Experience contributing to pre-sales or business development activity.
* Line management experience including performance reviews and objective setting.
* Ability to manage multiple project priorities simultaneously.
* Active involvement in professional or technical communities.
