Location of post: Cwmafan Library, Depot Road, Cwmafan, Port Talbot SA12 9DF
We are currently looking for an experienced person to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient day-to-day administration and management of the library.
Main duties of the post include:
* Supervising the efficient day-to-day administration and management of the library
* Supervision of staff in the library
* Routine supervision of IT equipment and services
* Contributing to staff training requirements within the library
* Participating in service development discussions, especially through engagement with schools and local community groups
* Identifying growth potential for the library and promoting library usage
* Contributing to stock selection and promotion
* Maintaining records and undertaking necessary checks in line with the health and safety of the building
* Developing links with youth organizations and schools to enhance services to children
* Undertaking any duties, commensurate with the post and grade, as assigned by the Library Services Manager
Experience required:
* Professional library work experience
* Supervising and motivating staff experience
* Extensive experience working in public libraries
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
