RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Creating job orders and bill of materials to route test specimens through the testing laboratory.
2. Reviewing orders and bill of materials for accuracy prior to releasing the job to the shop floor.
3. Reviewing purchase orders and material specifications to ensure accuracy.
4. Assuring that test fixtures are available to perform testing.
5. Collaborating with other internal business areas to determine instructions for the bill of materials.
6. Creating standardized work instructions to ensure accuracy of information.
7. Specifying machining processes.
8. Re-assigning item codes and bill of materials when necessary.
9. Continuously updating and maintaining the specification library.
10. Assisting with recording data in the proper format.
11. Ensuring traceability and identification on all pieces of material.
12. Prioritizing and managing daily flow of work to machine shop and destructive test labs.
13. Overseeing processing of orders requiring destructive and non-destructive testing.
14. Analyzing material and customer specifications to determine testing requirements.
15. Interacting with technical experts to confirm specimen preparation and testing methods.
16. Advising sales department and customers on testing and machining requirements.
17. Creating machining operation plans and technical drawings for non-standard specimen extraction.
18. Setting up machining and testing routing, tracking specimens and material, and providing accurate status and timeline updates for multi-step testing projects.
19. Using available technology and tools to improve productivity and accuracy of daily order processing.
20. Understanding and complying with LTI’s QA Program at all times.
21. Following all safety rules and regulations; utilizing personal protective equipment.
22. Maintaining assigned work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition at all times.
23. Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* No prior experience required; 1-3 years of related experience preferred.
* Bachelor's Degree (BS) from a four-year college or university in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Process Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
* Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning Systems, Inventory Software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Mechanical aptitude and the ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
* Ability to lift, push, pull, carry, and/or move weights up to 75 pounds.
This position requires use of information or access to processes subject to security controls under U.S. export laws including ITAR. Applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by ITAR.
