Marketing Manager
Overview
The Marketing Manager is responsible for leading and delivering The Vella Group's marketing strategy, with a strong emphasis on brand development, internal communications, digital presence, and market intelligence. This role ensures that The Vella Group's brand is consistently represented across all channels, supporting both customer-facing visibility and employee engagement.
The Marketing Manager will oversee all aspects of branding, communications, PR, and design, while working closely with internal departments, external agencies, and suppliers to deliver high-quality marketing outputs. They will also play a critical role in supporting business growth by producing market analysis and competitor intelligence to inform strategic decision-making, and in developing the Group's position as an employer of choice in the UK automotive repair industry.
This role manages the day-to-day development of the Marketing Assistant, ensuring delivery of projects and supporting their professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Development & External Presence
* Champion The Vella Group brand, ensuring consistency, clarity, and strength across all platforms, touchpoints, and communications.
* Develop and implement a brand strategy that positions The Vella Group as the UK's leading repair group, enhancing visibility with clients, employees, and local communities.
* Oversee the management and optimisation of The Vella Group's website and social media channels, ensuring content aligns with strategic objectives.
* Coordinate the design and production of marketing assets including signage, vehicle livery, uniforms, brochures, and client presentations.
* Promote the Group's ESG achievements and community partnerships through targeted campaigns.
Internal Communications & Employee Engagement
* Lead the delivery of engaging internal communications through The Vella Hub, site TV screens, newsletters, and digital campaigns.
* Support HR in reinforcing employer brand, employee engagement, and reward initiatives, ensuring the company culture and values are embedded across all sites.
* Drive campaigns that celebrate employee success stories, customer feedback, and internal awards.
Market Intelligence & Analysis
* Produce regular market reports on industry trends, competitor activity, and sector consolidation to inform the leadership team and support business development.
* Conduct competitor and sector research, particularly on EV, ADAS, diagnostics, and insurer behaviour, to identify risks and opportunities.
* Support directors with data, insights, and presentations for tenders, board papers, and strategic planning.
Campaigns & Business Development
* Manage the annual marketing calendar, overseeing campaigns, events, award submissions, and external communications.
* Support business development and tendering with tailored presentations, case studies, and marketing collateral.
* Manage relationships with external creative agencies, PR partners, designers, and print suppliers to deliver projects on time and on budget.
Leadership & Management
* Line manage and mentor the Marketing Assistant, providing clear objectives, feedback, and opportunities for professional growth.
* Coordinate effectively across the management team, aligning marketing activity with business priorities in operations, HR, ESG, and acquisitions.
* Monitor and manage the marketing budget.
Key Skills and Experience
* Proven experience in a marketing or communications management role, ideally within automotive or technical services.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills, with the ability to design and structure high-quality presentations, reports, and analysis.
* Ability to analyse market data, interpret competitor insights, and translate into actionable recommendations.
* Experience in managing internal communications platforms (intranets, digital newsletters, staff engagement tools).
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with stakeholders at all levels.
* Line management experience desirable, with ability to mentor junior team members.
