Job Description
We’re looking for an experienced Shift Supervisor to lead, organize, and motivate a team of Warehouse Operatives at our Snetterton site. You’ll play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality warehouse operations — from goods in and storage, to picking, dispatch, and performance management.
As a Shift Supervisor, you’ll take ownership of daily warehouse performance, safety standards, and team development, driving operational excellence while supporting a positive, high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
* Lead by example to ensure a safe working environment across all warehouse operations.
* Drive compliance with PPE, 5S, and housekeeping standards.
* Act as Incident Controller during emergencies.
* Conduct regular safety briefings, audits, and behavioural observations.
Quality & Service
* Maintain product quality standards and complete internal quality audits.
* Ensure 99.5% customer service level through accurate and timely picking, loading, and dispatch.
* Manage stock accuracy (target 99.5%) and support continuous improvement in warehouse performance.
People Leadership
* Manage, coach, and develop a team of 10 Warehouse Operatives.
* Conduct regular 1:1s, appraisals, and performance reviews.
* Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
* Handle absence management, investigations, and disciplinary processes where required.
Operational Performance & Cost Control
* Plan and allocate labor effectively to meet daily targets.
* Drive cost efficiency and manage agency labor usage.
* Deliver against KPIs including service, quality, safety, cost, and stock control.
* Lead or participate in continuous improvement and warehouse optimization projects.
Qualifications
About You
We’re looking for a proactive and hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic warehouse environment.
Essential Experience & Skills
* Proven experience supervising warehouse or logistics teams.
* Current Counterbalance and Reach Truck licenses.
* Strong understanding of warehouse systems, stock control, and H&S practices.
* Excellent communication and people management skills.
* Competent in Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems (WMS).
Desirable
* Experience in FMCG or manufacturing logistics.
* Exposure to culture change and/or continuous improvement initiatives.
* Project management experience.
