GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated Science Teacher (Chemistry) to join a school in Derby. This role provides the opportunity to deliver engaging lessons, support pupils’ academic progress, and foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Role Overview:
As a Science Teacher specialising in Chemistry, you will deliver lessons that develop pupils’ practical and theoretical understanding of chemistry concepts. You will encourage scientific curiosity, problem-solving skills, and prepare students for exams and future STEM opportunities.
As a Science Teacher (Chemistry), you will:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Chemistry lessons across Key Stages is desirable.
* Inspire pupils to engage with scientific concepts and experiments.
* Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
* Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom and laboratory environment.
* Collaborate with colleagues to support the Science curriculum and extracurricular STEM activities.
* Prioritise safeguarding and pupil welfare at all times.
Requirements for Science Teacher (Chemistry):
* UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Experience teaching Chemistry across school level.
* Strong subject knowledge of Chemistry curriculum and practical experimentation.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
* An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
* A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
