Job Responsibilities
1. Work a total of 11 sessions per week to be covered by 2 salaried GPs. Consultations and physical examinations to identify or reduce risk of disease or injury.
2. Available at agreed times during the sessions for surgery consultations and telephone advice.
3. All face‑to‑face consultations in the surgery; expected to carry out a fair share of home visits on days worked.
4. Advice patients on general health, diet, exercise, smoking, alcohol consumption, and drug misuse.
5. Arrange vaccination or immunisation against infectious diseases per national guidelines and policies.
6. Refer where appropriate for other services under the NHS Act and to other agencies such as Social Services.
7. Provide contraceptive services in accordance with Para 29 of the National Health Service (GMS) Regulations 1992.
8. Provide maternity medical services in accordance with Para 31 and Part II of Schedule 5 of the National Health Service (GMS) Regulations 1992.
9. Other clinics according to the interests of the post-holder.
10. Hold a personal list of registered patients to maintain continuity of care.
11. Opportunity to be involved in extended access clinics.
12. Be involved in care home LES in supporting our care home residents on a rotational basis.
13. On‑call commitments on a pro‑rata basis.
14. Participate in practice educational meetings, mandatory training, and maintain CPD for annual appraisal and revalidation.
Qualifications
* Full registration with the GMC.
* Vocational training certificate or equivalent.
* Full or valid on performers' list if newly qualified.
* Membership of a Medical Defence organisation.
* Experience in teaching, research, or leadership roles.
* Willingness to contribute to service development and innovation.
Experience
* Will consider experienced or newly qualified GPs.
Requirements
* Full registration with the GMC.
* Membership of a Medical Defence organisation.
* Vocational training certificate or equivalent.
* Currently on performers list or valid to be registered if newly qualified.
* UK driving licence.
* Evidence of annual appraisal and revalidation.
* Enhanced DBS.
* Commitment to good quality healthcare and ability to work within a team.
