Many of our learners join us following disrupted or challenging educational journeys. The Role: Experienced Secondary Class Teacher (Not suitable for ECTs)
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, resilient and skilled secondary teacher to lead a small, mixed ability class (KS3/KS4) of around 7-8 pupils in our co-ed provision. You will teach across the curriculum, supported by experienced teaching assistants, and play a vital pastoral role in helping pupils grow socially, emotionally and academically.
You will be supporting learners who will generally be working below age related expectations and require a highly nurturing, adaptive approach.
You will play an active role in whole school development, providing leadership in areas such as subject planning and the ASDAN (Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network).
This role is ideal for a teacher who is:

Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
5. Teach across the curriculum to a small secondary class.
6. Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with SEMH needs.
7. Prepare students for examinations.
8. Build positive, relational learning environments using trauma informed approaches.
9. Create and maintain a positive, structured and trauma-informed classroom environment.
10. Track progress, assess learning and contribute to the review processes.
Subject Leadership
11. Lead whole school development in a specialist subject area.
12. Review schemes of work, monitor standards, and support colleagues.
Pastoral Care
13. Provide daily pastoral oversight for your student group.
14. Support wellbeing, behaviour, transitions, and future pathways including post 16 opportunities.
Essential Experience & Qualities
15. QTS and completion of the 2 year ECT induction
16. Minimum of 3 years’ post qualification experience
17. Ability to teach across the curriculum
18. Strong behaviour management and safeguarding knowledge
19. Excellent communication and organisational skills
20. A commitment to collaboration and professional growth
21. Full manual driving license
Desirable Experience & Qualities
22. Experience in an SEMH/SEND setting and trauma informed practice
23. Curriculum leadership, ASDAN or Duke of Edinburgh Award delivery.
