Building Surveyor – Planned Works & Responsive Repairs

We’re seeking a degree-qualified Building Surveyor ready for a varied role covering strategic planned works and hands-on responsive maintenance, with excellent progression and development opportunities.
Role Overview
* Lead building surveying and cost advice across planned investment, upgrades, and refurbishment programmes.
* Take ownership of defect diagnosis and remedial recommendations for responsive repairs, working closely with in-house and external contractors.
* Scope, specify, and validate works using robust stock data, ensuring every pound is invested wisely.
* Resolve land management and neighbourly issues—boundaries, encroachment, party wall, wayleaves, licences, acquisitions, and disposals—seeking external expertise as needed.
* Oversee applications for alterations/improvements by residents and leaseholders.
* Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations, Health & Safety, regulatory and best practice standards.
* Drive improvements in asset information, data quality, and adoption of innovations in building repair and management.

You’ll need
* A degree in Building Surveying (or Quantity Surveying with strong building expertise).
* Experience delivering planned works and or responsive repairs—ideally in housing, local authority, or commercial sectors.
* RICS, CIOB or relevant professional membership (or working towards).
* First-rate technical and organisational skills: defect diagnosis, specification, contract admin, budgeting, digital reporting, and AutoCAD.
* Confidence managing priorities with a positive, solutions-oriented approach.
* Full driving licence and willingness to travel regionally
