Ivy Resource Group are recruiting for a talented and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support commercial delivery on major healthcare and education projects in the South West. Our client is a Tier 1 contractor seeking a commercially astute and proactive professional to join their team on a permanent basis. This role is based in Southampton, with flexible working options considered. The Company Our client is a leading UK building, infrastructure, engineering and fit-out company. The Role Entails: This is a key commercial role responsible for overseeing the financial and contractual delivery of high-value healthcare and education construction projects. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will manage project cost control, subcontractor procurement, reporting, and final account settlement while working closely with Project Managers, Estimators, and the wider commercial team. You will be instrumental in ensuring commercial success, contractual compliance, and delivery to budget - with opportunities to progress within a dynamic and supportive team. What You Will Be Doing: Manage all commercial aspects of healthcare and education projects from start to finish Prepare and review sub-contract documentation, valuations, and variations Oversee cost planning, forecasting, and monthly financial reporting Support procurement strategy and negotiation of key packages Liaise with stakeholders including clients, consultants, and internal teams Ensure projects comply with contractual terms and risk management protocols Contribute to project cash flow management and final account agreement Mentor junior quantity surveyors and support commercial development Monitor commercial performance, identify cost-saving opportunities Coordinate with site teams to ensure accurate progress valuations and reporting What We Need From You: Proven experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor role within main contracting Strong knowledge of healthcare and education construction projects Excellent understanding of NEC and JCT contract forms Experience in managing budgets on complex projects from £2m Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills Proficient in financial reporting, forecasting and value engineering Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field (or equivalent) RICS membership desirable but not essential High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general IT systems Salary & Benefits: Up to £85,000 (depending on experience) Car allowance 26 days annual leave (with the option to buy/sell up to 3 days) 3 additional long service days (after 3, 7, and 10 years) Private medical insurance (option to extend to family) Life Assurance Defined contribution pension (matched up to 8%) Professional membership fees covered Enhanced maternity, paternity & parental leave 2 volunteering days per year Flexible and agile working (role dependent) Access to "Perks at Work" - discounts on retail, travel, tech & more Flexible Benefits Scheme including: - Critical Illness Insurance (including partner cover) - Dental Insurance - Travel Insurance - Cycle to Work Scheme - Activity passes & retail vouchers How to Apply: Submit your CV Call / Text / WhatsApp Robbie on 07835 935 486 for a confidential conversation.
