Locum Consultant Ophthalmologist with a specialist interest in Uveitis
The Ophthalmology Directorate is looking to appoint a full‑time locum Consultant Ophthalmologist with a specialist interest in Uveitis. The successful candidate will join a team of 17 consultants providing specialist services in Glaucoma, Diabetes, Cornea, Medical & Surgical Retina, Ocular Motility and Oculoplastics.
Main duties: The post is primarily based at New Cross Hospital but may require clinics and theatre sessions at Cannock Chase Hospital or Walsall Manor Hospital. The preferred candidate will have FRCOphth or equivalent, or be on the GMC specialist register (or eligible for registration within 6 months of interview).
Department Overview
The department has two state‑of‑the‑art theatres at New Cross Hospital and a refurbished cataract theatre at Cannock Chase. Support includes orthoptists, hospital‑based optometrists, fully equipped imaging and a dedicated eye referral unit.

Person Specification
Essential:
* Full registration and licence to practise with the GMC.
* Must be on the GMC specialist register or within 6 months of completion of CCT from the date of interview.
* Specialist interest in Uveitis.
Desirable:
* Higher medical degree.
* FRCOphth.
* Evidence of audit and implementation of change following audit.
