PBS Assistant | Bristol Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Hours: 37.5 per week Salary: £27.000 - £28.000 per year Location : Bristol Leaf Complex Care, part of Catalyst Care Group, is seeking a dedicated PBS Assistant to join our Bristol team. This role is suitable for a clinician or a support worker who has experience working alongside PBS Practitioners or supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and associated mental health conditions. No formal PBS qualification or experience is required, but a good understanding of PBS principles and keyworker responsibilities is essential. About the Role As a PBS Assistant, you will help deliver positive behavior support by assisting with Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) and Functional Assessments alongside PBS Practitioners and Specialists. You will support staff, carers, and families with practical strategies, help with incident reviews, audits, and training, and provide one-to-one guidance to frontline staff. Your role will encourage early prevention, positive risk-taking, and person-centered care, working closely with families, commissioners, and other professionals to achieve consistent and ethical outcomes. Key Responsibilities Support the development and implementation of Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) and Functional Assessments Assist in incident analysis, audits, and post-incident debriefs Provide guidance and coaching to frontline staff, carers, and families Promote ethical, person-centred approaches to positive behaviour support Contribute to staff training sessions and professional development Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, families, and commissioners to ensure consistent outcomes About You Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework, theory, and practice (PBS competencies desirable) Knowledge of safeguarding practices and legal frameworks (Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Human Rights Act) Minimum 2 years' experience supporting vulnerable adults with complex needs and behaviours Resilient, confident, and able to work under pressure Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities Career-focused, motivated to learn, and passionate about making a positive impact Full UK driving license and flexibility to travel across community settings Benefits: Employee Assistance Program.
