Overview
The Warehouse and Logistics Manager plays a critical role at Tops Pizza UK, overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics. This position is responsible for ensuring efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of products through the Tops Supplies warehouse while managing logistics staff to deliver exceptional service to our franchisees and customers across the UK. The role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and a commitment to maintaining food safety standards in a fast-paced environment.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Warehouse Stock Management
* Manage stock accuracy and stock flow to ensure optimal inventory levels
* Develop and implement inventory forecasting and planning strategies to prevent stockouts
* Liaise with third party suppliers regarding deliveries, stock movements, and supply chain issues
* Implement and monitor KPIs into the warehouse operations for continuous improvement
* Receive, organise and delegate orders, picking requirements and delivery schedule with Franchisees, External Customers, and Warehouse Pickers/Delivery Drivers
* Monitor and oversee efficient and accurate order picking to achieve correct service levels
* Manage returns and damaged goods processes in accordance with company policies * Implement and test new technology from time to time when available to improve operational efficiency
* Ensure Occupational Health and Safety and Hygiene requirements are enforced at all times
* Oversee environmental compliance and waste management programs within the warehouse
* Maintain warehouse management systems and ensure proper documentation of all processes Team Management
* Plan and organise team member availability to align with picking and delivery requirements
* Manage team with regards to attendance, productivity, accuracy and motivation
* Coordinate training and development programs for warehouse staff
* Oversee health and safety training for all warehouse and logistics personnel
* Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback * Manage employee relations issues including but not limited to absence, disciplinary, grievance and performance issues
* Communicate across the organisation to assist team in solving operational issues
* Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes quality, safety, and customer service
Logistics Management
* Oversee all delivery operations and ensure timely distribution to franchisees and customers
* Develop and implement route optimization strategies for efficient deliveries
* Manage fleet maintenance and compliance (if applicable)
* Track delivery performance metrics and implement improvements
* Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and driver requirements
Financial Management
* Ensure operations are maintained within forecasted budget levels at all times
* Manage / Oversee cash and credit from Franchisees and Customers
* Approve employee hours to Warehouse Logistics Team
* Identify cost-saving opportunities across warehouse and logistics operations
* Contribute to annual budgeting process for the department
Risk Management
* Develop and maintain crisis management protocols for warehouse operations
* Contribute to business continuity planning to ensure uninterrupted supply
* Oversee security protocols for the warehouse and delivery operations
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations throughout the supply chain Business Development
* Investigate and source additional and/or replacement suppliers as required
* Drive growth in alignment with company strategy
* Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction
* Collaborate with other departments to support company-wide initiatives Direct Reports
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
* At least 2 years' experience as Warehouse Manager or Operational Manager
* Team management and logistics experience
* Experience with warehouse management systems
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards
* Ability to implement new processes and procedures
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook experience required
* SAGE system experience desired
* Experience with lean/continuous improvement methodologies preferred
* Health and safety certification/knowledge
* Driver management experience
* Additional language skills beneficial

* Valid UK driving license
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Physical capability to occasionally assist with warehouse duties when required

Pay: £40.00-£50,000.00 per year
