This is a genuine digital transformation leadership role, not a caretaker IT job.
You’re a senior technology leader who can set direction and deliver. Someone who sees digital as a commercial growth engine, not a support function.
We’re working with a rapidly scaling, multi-site consumer-facing organisation that’s investing heavily in technology, data and digital platforms to reshape customer experience, unlock growth, and simplify operations at scale.
You’ll own the end-to-end digital and technology strategy, spanning:
5. Customer-facing digital platforms
6. Core business systems and integrations
7. Data, insight and analytics
8. Cyber security, risk and compliance
9. Infrastructure, service delivery and suppliers
Fundamentally your remit is to create and develop a modern, secure, scalable digital ecosystem that drives revenue, retention and operational efficiency across a national estate.
What you’ll actually be doing:
10. Defining and delivering a clear, commercially aligned digital and technology strategy
11. Leading large-scale digital transformation programmes that materially improve customer experience
12. Using data and digital products to increase sales, improve retention and reduce manual effort
13. Leading and developing a senior, multi-disciplinary technology team (circa 50 people across digital, data, applications, infrastructure and security)
14. Owning supplier strategy and commercial outcomes, not just contracts
15. Partnering with operational and executive stakeholders to translate business problems into scalable technology solutions
16. Managing OPEX and CAPEX with board-level accountability
You’ll need:
17. Proven leadership of IT and Digital functions in a complex, multi-site environment
18. A track record of delivering digital change, not just designing PowerPoint strategies
19. Strong experience across digital platforms, applications, data, infrastructure and cyber security
20. Confidence operating at board level, translating tech into commercial outcomes
21. Deep understanding of supplier management, contracts and value delivery
22. Experience operating within regulated or accredited environments (e.g. ISO, PCI, Cyber Essentials)
23. Experience of working in retail, leisure or hospitality is very advantageous
Why this one’s different
24. This role sits at the centre of growth strategy, not the edge of the org chart
25. Genuine exec-level influence with the remit to modernise, simplify and scale
26. A rare chance to reshape and enhance digital foundations across a national footprint
