The successful candidate will lead the specialist services division as the Professional Development Advisor for maternity services and across the organisation. Responsibilities include coordinating professional development activities such as mandatory training, service initiatives, preceptorship programmes, and clinical placements in accordance with Trust policies, procedures, and national guidelines.
The role holder will oversee the onboarding process for new staff through preceptorship and induction programmes, providing access to education and assessment programmes to facilitate smooth transitions.
Provides professional leadership, advice, and support, fostering a learning culture that emphasizes high-quality patient care.
We operate three wards across two sites, with a total of 88 beds for antenatal, postnatal, and induction of labour.
The candidate must be an expert clinical practitioner, capable of prioritizing and planning workload. Acts as an expert resource within the multi-professional team in Midwifery & Obstetrics, advising on both normal and complex midwifery care based on research evidence.
Participates in and leads training and education aligned with the maternity MIS and Core Competency Framework.
Leads midwifery practice development initiatives to ensure compliance with national standards and promotes a culture of "best care, best value".
Promotes reflective practice and a culture of lifelong learning within the division and specialist areas.
Leads the development and implementation of evidence-based practice within maternity services to improve patient outcomes.
