A new and exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced full-time Lecturer in Digital to join a dynamic and innovative educational institution. This role will involve delivering high-quality teaching and learning to students across a range of digital-related courses, designing course content, assessments, and learning materials, and contributing to the ongoing development of the college's Digital curriculum. The successful candidate will be primarily based at the Nelson & Colne College campus but may be required to travel across sites. The expected start date for this post is 17 August 2026. What You Will Be Doing:
* Teaching a variety of Level 3 programmes including Digital T Levels and BTEC.
* Engaging with local schools as part of the recruitment strategy.
* Delivering enrichment and enhancement activities.
* Co‑designing the curriculum with key employers.
* Maintaining high‑quality records related to student assessment, coursework and progress.
Qualifications and Experience:
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Computer Science or a related field and a recognised teaching qualification. You should have experience teaching IT and Computer Science to students of all levels, a passion for your subject and a commitment to student success. You will be a proactive and enthusiastic team player, with excellent communication and organisational skills.
We are also looking for a practitioner with expertise in software development, particularly in teaching programming languages such as Python, C++ and JavaScript. Experience teaching Cyber‑Security and Networking is desirable. A deep understanding of both theoretical concepts and practical applications, and the ability to communicate complex topics clearly and effectively, is required. Experience delivering hands‑on, engaging lessons and adapting to diverse learning styles is highly desirable. Familiarity with the latest industry standards and trends will be an advantage.
* Degree in a relevant subject area or appropriate professional qualification.
* Recent industry experience desirable.
* PGCE qualification or willingness to work towards one.
* Knowledge of and proven ability to deliver the curriculum successfully.
* Display initiative, be positive and enthusiastic.
