Responsibilities include:
* Monitoring incoming payroll tax notices, researching, and resolving payroll tax issues.
* Managing multi-jurisdiction taxation for new job set up and ensuring compliance through regular audits.
* Registering for new jurisdictions and maintaining communication with relevant agencies.
* Processing payrolls for multiple locations across various states.
* Reconciling taxes prior to transmission and validating reports.
* Ensuring compliance with all applicable reporting requirements.
* Staying current with government regulations affecting employee taxation, including federal, state, and local laws such as COBRA, FLSA, and FMLA.
Responsibilities for Payroll Specialist include:
* Entering new hires and terminating employees in the payroll system.
* Processing garnishments, child support orders, and rate changes.
* Processing multi-state payrolls accurately and timely.
* Reconciling payroll before transmission and validating reports.
* Managing workflow and ensuring all payroll transactions are processed correctly.
* Processing employment verifications and onboarding modules.
* Handling employee address changes and tax updates.
* Responding to employee payroll inquiries and assisting with various projects.
