The Children in Care Administration Assistant provides essential administrative and secretarial support to a busy safeguarding team. The role involves managing communications, maintaining accurate patient records, coordinating appointments and reports, and supporting clinicians to ensure efficient, timely care for children in care.
Main duties of the job
* Provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to the Children in Care team.
* Manage incoming calls, emails and enquiries, ensuring timely responses.
* Maintain accurate patient records on systems such as SystmOne and PAS.
* Liaise with professionals, social workers and external organisations.
* Support general office functions.

Qualifications
* Good General Education - GCSE / Level A-C including English and Maths or equivalent.
* NVQ level 3 Business and Administration or equivalent level of knowledge and experience.
* RSA II text and word processing or equivalent level of knowledge and experience.
* Administration qualification - or willingness to undertake courses endorsed by the Trust.
* ECDL or alternative IT qualification or equivalent level of knowledge and experience.
Experience
* Evidence of previous administration or secretarial experience in a busy environment.
* Previous experience of record keeping and filing systems.
* Experience of organising and prioritising own workload, working in a busy environment, and meeting deadlines.
* Use of computerised record systems.
Skills
* Good communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
* Professional telephone manner.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
* Able to work as part of a team but also independently, with minimum supervision.
* Able to work on own initiative within guidelines.
