Our valued client, a trusted partner to the UKs Ministry of Defence, is seeking a Tooling Design Engineer to join their high-performing team. In this role, you will design and deliver innovative tooling solutions across a diverse range of projects. This is a pivotal position, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams to understand requirements and provide effective solutions. We are looking for a driven individual with a passion for engineering excellence and the ability to take full ownership of the delivery process from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and define technical requirements.
Create innovative concept designs.
Organise and lead design and peer reviews.
Manage workload effectively and prioritise tasks.
Deliver detailed design solutions to specification.
Collaborate with the definition team to produce accurate 2D drawings.
Ensure timely publication and maintenance of all CAD data.
What do you need?: High-performing teams need skilled and competent individuals. To be considered for this role, candidates should demonstrate several of the following attributes: Degree, HND, or HNC qualification (or equivalent) with proven experience in mechanical design and development using appropriate engineering tools and techniques.
Strong proficiency in industry-standard 3D CAD software, such as PTC Creo.
Experience working in environments that utilise development techniques such as FMEA, DFA, and DFM.
Proven ability to design and develop manufacturing tooling and mechanical handling equipment from initial concept through to production-ready 2D drawings.
Ability to interpret customer requirements and translate them into effective design solutions.
