Senior Quantity Surveyor – Rail Bias (Preferred)
McLaren Resourcing is working with a leading infrastructure contractor to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic commercial team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to play a key role in the delivery of major infrastructure projects across the UK.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of complex construction projects, ensuring financial efficiency and contractual compliance from start to finish. You will be involved in cost management, procurement, subcontractor management, and reporting – supporting the successful delivery of high-value schemes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the full commercial lifecycle of infrastructure projects
* Prepare and negotiate subcontractor and supplier packages
* Monitor project budgets, valuations, and cashflow
* Provide accurate cost and value reporting to senior management
* Identify and manage risks and opportunities to maximise project performance
* Ensure compliance with contract terms and company procedures
* Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and delivery teams
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction or civil engineering
* Preferably with experience working on rail or infrastructure projects (e.g., NR, LU, HS2)
* Strong knowledge of NEC or similar contract forms
* Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar (or equivalent experience)
* Strong communication and leadership abilities
