Overview Subsea7 is seeking a Senior IT Security Engineer to join our team in our Westhill, Aberdeen office or Sutton, London office. As part of the Subsea7 IT Security team, the successful candidate will bring a strong technical background and a solid understanding of cybersecurity. You will work with a variety of leading security tools, including EDR, email, and identity solutions. As cyber threats continue to evolve, our security tooling must adapt. The Senior Security Engineer will play a key role in maintaining and modernising our existing tools to prevent incidents and ensure alignment with the needs of the wider organisation. What will you be doing? Enhance the functionality of existing security solutions within the IT Security team. Manage and maintain information security policies and procedures to meet organisational goals and standards. Engage with senior business stakeholders to promote and improve cybersecurity within key business processes (e.g. Supply Chain, HR, Finance) Support the Information Security Manager and collaborate with other team members. Assist key business stakeholders in ensuring data protection and compliance with information security regulations. Respond to operational security queries, changes, and requests. Lead or support IT projects to ensure secure deployment and operation. Stay current with industry best practices for cybersecurity strategy, design, and operations. Provide support during cybersecurity incidents, including post-incident reviews and recommending improvements. Offer guidance to the business on cybersecurity related issues and queries. Participate in problem and change management forums. Assist with IT audit and compliance services Monitor emerging threats and vulnerabilities relevant to Subsea7 and recommend appropriate remediation. What experience will you need? Preferred degree level education, or equivalent experience. Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and best practices (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, GDPR). Proven experience with a range of cybersecurity tools, including EDR, identity and access management, vulnerability management, and cloud infrastructure. Awareness or experience in cyber infrastructure management and recovery. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders. High level of integrity and confidentiality. Strong leadership qualities and self-motivation. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Solid understanding of IT infrastructure and applications, with awareness of industry standards and current technology trends. Ability to prioritise projects. An understanding of best practices and how to implement them at a business wide level.
