The Role
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to take full ownership of front‑end sales activity. This is a senior role, reporting directly to the directors, and will be pivotal in shaping how new opportunities are identified, qualified, and developed.
Key responsibilities include:
* Mapping markets and identifying viable prospects.
* Building relationships with key stakeholders (particularly Asset Integrity Engineers).
* Developing structured contact and visit plans through cold‑calling, referrals, and exhibitions.
* Collaborating with Process Engineers to deliver technical solutions.
* Maintaining client contact post‑sale to forecast upcoming projects.
* Uploading accurate information into the CRM to support forecasting and transparency.
* Managing diary and travel effectively to maximise impact.
Candidate Profile
* Proven track record in business development or technical sales of high‑value engineered solutions.
* Inquisitive, tenacious, and forensic in approach — able to ask the right questions and uncover opportunities.
* Skilled in rapport and relationship building, with credibility at senior engineering levels.
* Comfortable working alongside technical experts without needing to be deeply technical themselves.
* Knowledge of Graham Hart’s core markets is desirable. Candidates from comparable industries such as mechanical seals, valves, pumps, process equipment, or automation will be considered strong crossover fits.
* Organised, commercially disciplined, and able to prioritise effectively.
* Cultural fit: transparent, collaborative, and willing to contribute to a supportive team environment.
What’s on Offer
* Competitive salary £50,000 – £60,000
* Opportunity to take full ownership of the BD function in a respected, growing manufacturer.
* Initial period based at Bradford HQ to learn the business and culture, then a balance of site and customer visits.
* A transparent, team‑oriented culture where your impact will be visible and valued
