O'Neill & Brennan are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading civils and rail contractor who are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join their team. The Health & Safety Advisor will support the safe delivery of civil engineering and rail projects across London by providing competent health, safety, and environmental guidance. The role ensures compliance with statutory requirements, client standards, and company policies while promoting a strong safety culture on site. Key Responsibilities: * Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety tours across London civil engineering and rail projects. * Ensure compliance with UK health & safety legislation, Network Rail requirements, CDM Regulations, and company policies. * Prepare, review, and advise on RAMS, Construction Phase Plans, and other H&S documentation. * Lead or support investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-miss events, ensuring corrective actions are implemented. * Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings to workforce and subcontractors. * Maintain accurate H&S records, reports, and performance data. * Engage with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, and client bodies to ensure clear communication of safety expectations. * Promote positive safety culture and behavioural safety initiatives across all project sites. * Keep up to date with changes in legislation, standards, and industry best practice Requirements: * NEBOSH Construction Certificate – essential. * Previous experience in rail and civil engineering environments, ideally with exposure to Network Rail standards. * Strong understanding of CDM 2015 Regulations. * Experience conducting site inspections, audits, and incident investigations. * Ability to interpret legislation and industry standards and communicate requirements clearly. * Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to multiple sites across London
