Interior Design Technician – Technical Support Role
Location: Glasgow, with travel across the UK & Ireland

Cunningham McLean is expanding. As our portfolio of hospitality and commercial projects continues to grow, we’re looking for a talented Interior Design Technician to join our team.
From boutique refurbishments to large-scale, multi-disciplinary developments, our work spans hotels, leisure venues, and commercial interiors across the UK and Ireland. We are looking for someone who shares our passion for detail, collaboration, and innovation.
Responsibilities
* Producing detailed technical drawings and specifications
* Conducting site surveys
* Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants
* Ensuring compliance with British Standards and building regulations
* Contributing to the development of design packages and tender documentation
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a proactive, technically-minded designer with a keen eye for detail and a collaborative spirit.
Essential Skills & Experience
* BA(Hons) in Interior Design, Architectural Technology, or equivalent industry experience
* Strong hand sketching and drawing ability
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and specification/schedule writing
* Proven experience in interior detailing and fit-out design
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
* Willingness to travel for site visits and surveys
Desirable Skills
* Experience across hospitality, commercial, and design & build sectors
* Strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
