Working for our organisation

Lambeth MHST mission statement:
Through early support and working with children, young people, families and staff, we help to enable healthy minds and thriving school communities. We offer a safe space to work with you collaboratively and with transparency. We value who you are and where you are.

We are an early intervention service supporting mild to moderate mental health needs in 40 primary and secondary schools in Lambeth. Our service will be expanding to more schools in Lambeth in January 2026.

The team consists of multidisciplinary professionals from a variety of training backgrounds including Systemic Family Therapist, Systemic Family Practitioners, Social Work, Education Psychologists, Arts Psychotherapists, Occupational Therapy, CBT Therapists, Senior Wellbeing Practitioner, Education Mental Health Practitioners, Quality Assurance and Communications Lead, and Senior Administrative Support.

About our locations:
Our main office is at St John’s Angell Town Primary School but we also work across several MHST schools in Lambeth. We offer flexibility and home working.

Responsibilities

* Work as part of the Lambeth MHST to manage a defined caseload, complete holistic assessments, and provide evidence-based intervention for children and young people (CYP) with mild to moderate mental health difficulties and their parents/carers.
* Plan and deliver whole school activities as part of a school’s whole school/college approach to mental health and wellbeing.
* Provide consultation and guided signposting to education settings.
* Be expected to provide case management and clinical skills supervision to qualified and/or trainee EMHPs within the service.
* Work flexibly across a range of education providers, promoting the participation of children, young people, families, carers and the wider school community.
* Promote equity, diversity and inclusion within the role, the MHST and school communities, contributing to enabling other staff, children, young people, families and carers from diverse backgrounds to flourish by creating a psychologically safe environment.

Qualifications

* EMHP candidates must be fully registered or awaiting accreditation with a relevant professional body (e.g., BABCP or BPS) and have at least 2 years of post‑qualification experience as of January 2026.
* Required enrolment in the KCL CYP MH Low Intensity Advanced Practice PGDip Course (for Senior Wellbeing Practitioners), starting 19 January 2026.
* Be a Band 6 Trainee Senior Wellbeing Practitioner and be able to fulfill the 2‑year Senior Wellbeing Practitioner Post Graduate Diploma at Kings College London.
* Demonstrated ability to provide case management, supervision and evidence‑based interventions for CYP and their families.
* Experience working within school or educational settings, with a focus on mental health and wellbeing.
