If this, is you, we have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our team in Wolverhampton working in the Bereavement team. Our Volunteer Community Bereavement Walk and Talk is welcoming and helpful. They work with people who have a link to Compton Care in promoting a healthy lifestyle of activities and will undertake the activities with other volunteers and a member of the Bereavement team. The aim of a Bereavement Walk and Talk is to bring together people who are affected or have experienced loss and grief. A Walk and Talk is a safe and supportive environment which enables people to meet others who have also been affected, share experiences and help access information, advice and signposting to other relevant services. So, whether you’re looking for a supportive role a couple of hours a week or improve your CV, we can provide all the support you need. We offer flexible hours to fit in with your lifestyle as well as supportive and thriving environment. Duties will include ensuring: To facilitate sessions and provide the necessary support for group members of the Walk and Talk group To provide group facilitation as required with clients experiencing loss and grief Provide information, advice and signposting to other local services and organizations as and when appropriate To monitor and maintain an attendance list of members attending the Walk To carry out any other activities that may reasonably requested by the Bereavement Team To be professional in all your undertakings and to act as an ambassador for the Walk and Talk To monitor and maintain stock levels for leaflets and promotional material for Compton Care and other signposting services To support the development of activities and any promotional material required to promote Bereavement Support Information To report incidents or concerns to the Bereavement Team To attend all induction training and any other mandatory training requested relating to the role Attend regular group supervision as when required In this role, we are looking for dedicated volunteers to help any time Mondays to Friday, open 5 days per week, between the hours of 9am and 4pm, whether you are looking to volunteer for a whole day or a few hours, we would love to hear from you. About the onboarding process This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for an enhanced submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions. It is also subject to satisfactory references and occupational health clearance.
