Locum Consultant Ophthalmologist (Glaucoma)

We are seeking aLocum Consultant Ophthalmologist with specialist interest in Glaucoma to lead and deliver high-quality glaucoma services within our dynamic Ophthalmology Department. You'll be part of a forward-thinking team committed to excellence in clinical care, teaching, and research.
Main duties of the job
* Lead the glaucoma service, delivering outpatient clinics, laser treatments, and theatre sessions.
* Participate in the on-call rota (1 in 12) shared with Ashford & St Peters' Hospital.
* Supervise and mentor junior medical staff.
* Contribute to service development, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Engage in teaching and research in collaboration with the University of Surrey and the Surrey Cancer Research Institute.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Full registration and a license to practice with the GMC
* Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Ophthalmology via CCT or Portfolio Pathway
* MBBS or equivalent
* FRCOphth or qualification at an equivalent qualification
Experience
* Demonstrated ability to lead independent ophthalmology theatre lists
* Clinical fellowship experience in glaucoma
* Demonstrated teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level
