An opportunity has arisen for a permanent full-time post within the Elective Home Education team (EHE) for Lewes & Coastal and Eastbourne to fulfil the local authority’s statutory duty regarding the suitability of elective home education. As an EHE Officer you’ll work closely with families who choose home education, helping them feel informed, offering guidance on rights and responsibilities through your visits, the EHE newsletters, and drop-in sessions. You will keep in touch with families to ensure children are receiving a suitable education, writing clear, helpful reports when reviewing home education provision. There will be collaboration with other agencies when safeguarding concerns arise. Your working week will include working from an office in Eastbourne one day a week and from home to complete the role of EHE officer for four days a week. This is a varied and rewarding position where no two days are the same!
