Nightclub Outreach Volunteer
Are you a night owl? Why not give Nightclub Outreach a go!
As part of our team, you would be at The Bridge to chat with anyone coming in, ready to help them in any way we can - maybe calling them a taxi home, being a listening ear, making them some toast, helping them find their friends if they've been separated, and just creating a relaxed atmosphere where people can retreat to after an intense clubbing atmosphere! Use your pastoral skills, pray for people, listen to the funny stories from their night, and practice hospitality. The Bridge opens on the last Friday of every month for people who are out in Southend's Night Clubs from 1-5am. We offer a safe, warm space to take a breather with a free tea, coffee, and some toast!
Nightclub Outreach is unique and would be great to add to your CV. It shows that you care for vulnerable people and are willing to give up your Friday night for others' sake. We are looking for caring, confident, and welcoming team players to join our team! We are a church-run charity, so we are led and inspired by Jesus' compassion for the lost, but it is not required that you are a follower of Jesus. If you have a heart for helping vulnerable people, you are welcome.
Skills
You must be over 18. No previous experience is required, but serving in a church, any other outreach, hospitality, and social work are all great assets for joining our team. You will need a reference. A DBS is highly recommended, but not essential. First aid training is a great asset.
