Role Overview
As a key member of our team, you will set up and operate computer numerically controlled (CNC) and manual machines to perform essential machining operations. Here’s what you’ll be doing:
Key Responsibilities:
* Read process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine machining requirements.
* Download programs from a DNC storage system and interpret work instructions.
* Select and install appropriate tooling for operations.
* Calculate feeds and speeds for various materials including steel, copper, and aluminum.
* Perform quality inspections and apply Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance productivity.
* Visually inspect final components and ensure proper boxing for shipment.
* Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols.
* Actively participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
Skills and Experience:
* In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and machining disciplines.
* Relevant Health and Safety awareness.
* Experience with machine control systems (Fanuc, Mazak, Heidenhain, Haas).
* Proficiency in precision inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
* Ability to hold tight machining tolerances of less than .0025mm.
* Self-motivated with strong facilitation skills in a team setting.
* Customer-focused with a positive attitude that inspires others.
Qualifications:
* HNC Engineering preferred.
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a lean-manufacturing environment.
