We are looking for an enthusiastic GP to join our primary care practice, delivering face‑to‑face and telephone consultations across six sessions per week.
You will be expected to undertake all standard GP duties, including referrals, prescriptions, lab reports, administrative tasks, and occasional home visits.
Job responsibilities
Provide surgery and telephone consultations in accordance with the practice timetable.
Attend to patient home visits as required, with minimal frequency.
Check, sign and manage repeat prescriptions, ensuring hand‑written prescriptions are avoided whenever possible.
Complete referrals, tasks, and correspondence in a timely fashion.
Record clear and contemporary consultation notes to agreed standards.
Admit or discharge patients and refer to other care providers as appropriate.
Develop care plans in line with current disease‑management protocols and provide health counselling and education.
Prescribe following the practice formulary or generically when clinically appropriate.
Maintain awareness and compliance with all relevant practice policies: prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety.
Cover colleagues’ administration on a rota basis during annual leave.
Qualifications
Registered Qualified General Practitioner with a UK GMC number.
Ability to work autonomously and make professional decisions regarding patient care.
You will be entitled to 6 weeks of annual leave and 1 week of study leave each year.
