Billing Specialist

As a Billing Specialist at VWV, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth, accurate, and timely delivery of client billing and revenue processes. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative Finance team in Bristol where your work directly supports the firm's financial performance and client service excellence.
About the Opportunity
You'll be responsible for managing end-to-end billing processes across multiple practice areas, ensuring invoices are accurate, compliant, and delivered in line with client requirements and firm procedures. You'll work within the firm's practice management systems (LexisOne currently, transitioning to Elite 3E within the next year), helping to maintain high standards of accuracy and consistency across all billing activity.
You'll ensure client bills are prepared, reviewed, and processed efficiently, including formatting and editing invoices and supporting e-billing requirements across external platforms. A key part of your role will be ensuring compliance with client billing guidelines while maintaining strong data integrity across financial systems.
You'll also work closely with fee earners to support accurate time recording and ensure Work in Progress (WIP) is actively managed and converted into billed revenue wherever possible. By supporting strong billing discipline across the firm, you'll help reduce delays, improve cash flow, and maintain effective financial control.
About You
You'll bring previous experience in a billing, revenue, or finance role, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment. You'll be confident supporting fee earners at all levels and able to manage a busy workload while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills are essential, along with a professional, client-focused approach. You'll be highly organised, comfortable working under pressure, and motivated by delivering accurate and timely results.
Experience with practice management systems such as Elite 3E (or similar) and familiarity with e-billing platforms would be highly beneficial. A good understanding of legal billing processes and intermediate Excel skills will also support your success in the role.
