Job Opportunity: Clinical Development Fellows at NHS Highland
NHS Highland is seeking to recruit four Clinical Development Fellows in General Medicine and Surgery at Lorn & Islands Hospital in Oban, one of NHS Highland’s Rural General Hospitals. Oban offers a beautiful setting and is close to the Highlands and the Islands, just over two hours from Glasgow.
This role provides a broad clinical experience. Applicants must have completed UK Foundation Year 2 training by 2 August 2023. CDFs will work in Medicine, Surgery, and Emergency Department, managing emergency and inpatient cases alongside senior clinicians. The posts are suitable for those preparing for specialty training or pursuing further experience in rural medicine.
The role involves managing medical and surgical patients, with significant ED work under supervision. Opportunities include teaching, quality improvement projects, and time in theatre, radiology, or outpatient clinics. Funding for relevant study leave may be available. The posts are not recognized for national training, and applicants must hold Full GMC Registration with a current Licence to Practice.
