Overview
Associate/Associate Director - Port Electrical Engineer (Maritime) role at WSP in the UK & Ireland.
What you’ll do
* Contribute to the technical delivery of a wide range of UK-based and international maritime projects for clients including local authorities, private clients, and international terminal operators.
* Prepare electrical deliverables such as Single Line Diagrams, cable calculations, cable block diagrams, plant layouts, cable routing, cable containment design, switchgear configurations, and bill of materials/quantities for electrical systems in accordance with international standards and client requirements with minimum guidance.
* Draft electrical specifications and review contractor design submissions against Employers Requirements, specifications, national and international standards, codes and good working practices.
* Work with equipment vendors to develop designs of equipment packages and participate in technical evaluations of vendor designs.
* Assess the condition of electrical assets and their designs for capability, risk, and intervention needs; develop project management skills through client and investor interactions.
* Contribute to all project stages from feasibility studies to concept designs, FEED studies, value engineering, and detailed design.
* Collaborate with owners, operators, and investors; travel to sites in the UK and overseas as required.

Qualifications
* Degree or similar qualification in electrical engineering with significant postgraduate experience in electrical design, operation, maintenance, or testing.
* Attainment of or working towards professional registration with the Engineering Council UK (ECUK) at Chartered (CEng) level, leading to Corporate Member of IET; or Chartered Engineer or working towards IEng/CEng with relevant institute membership.
* Experience leading the development of electrical deliverables and/or assessment of assets under construction or in operation.
* Knowledge of design, construction, and operation of power and energy projects; experience on maritime projects (e.g., container terminals, liquid/dry bulk terminals, offshore wind, ro-ro).
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; ability to produce high-quality technical outputs and coordinate with other disciplines; strong communication skills in English.
* Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with design tools: AutoCAD, Revit, AMTECH ProDesign, ETAP, PSCAD, PowerFactory (DIgSILENT), Dialux, Relux.
