A diverse primary school in Hackney is seeking a qualified SENDCo to join their team on a part-time basis from September 2025.
The role
As the SENDCo, you will be part of the leadership team for this diverse inner-city school. Your responsibilities include coordinating support for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), developing the school's SEND Policy with the senior leadership team, and ensuring all children receive high-quality support. This non-class-based role involves supporting pupils' progress and well-being, with some teaching of intervention groups.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Updating the school's SEND record
* Supporting parents in their child's learning through regular updates and reviews
* Liaising with outside agencies
* Providing specialist support to teachers and support staff
* Collaborating with class teachers to write Personal Learning Plans (PLPs)
* Preparing Education, Health and Care Plans
* Organising staff training on SEND needs
* Planning and leading SEND intervention groups
Essential criteria: Previous experience as a SENDCo in a Hackney school.
Interviews will be conducted before the end of the academic year.
