Arcadis is the world's leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets. We are more than 36,000 people in over 70 countries, dedicated to improving quality of life. Everyone has an important role to play. With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world's most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.
Our Intern & Placement programme is designed to give you a hands-on insight into the work we do as a company and help to develop skills and knowledge within your chosen field. Supported by signposted training, the programme is based on Arcadis core values, giving you both technical training and support to help you develop both personally and professionally whilst with us. You will be exposed to real projects and clients and given a range of experiences to immerse yourself into over the course of your 10-12-week internship or 12-month placement.
Our civil engineering community works across sectors including highways, rail, energy, and water management. Our work varies and covers projects of all scales across these sectors:
* A highways engineer contributes to the design and development of safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation systems, and is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the overall quality of our road infrastructure.
* A water management engineer works on waste and clean water infrastructure to deliver sustainable solutions, ensuring resilience and quality of water supplies to our communities through innovative and natural solutions.
* A rail engineer works on all aspects of Civil Engineering, from earthworks to drainage and structures, supporting the railway with viable and efficient solutions.
* An energy engineer supports clients in delivering new connections and grid upgrades to meet the UK's Net Zero carbon ambitions.
No matter the sector, the programme offers an opportunity to grow your skills in delivering sustainable solutions. The work may involve site visits and inspections.
* Roles within Highways, Water, and Energy are open to candidates with a BEng or MEng in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering.
* Roles within Rail require an MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Qualifications & Experience:
* You will be working towards a relevant degree (Placement & Intern only)
* You will demonstrate skills like Resilience, Creativity, Analytical Thinking, and teamwork
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders using technical knowledge
* Willingness to travel and stay away from home when required (virtual working embraced where possible)
We believe everyone's contribution matters. Our skills-based approach allows you to harness your unique experience to carve your career path and maximize impact.
You will do meaningful work, helping deliver sustainable solutions for a better planet. Make your mark on your career, colleagues, clients, life, and the world around you.
