Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum
Contract Type: Fixed-term / Contract
Role Overview
The Welding Construction Project Engineer will be responsible for managing and overseeing welding and fabrication activities on-site, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. The successful candidate will act as the technical lead for welding-related construction activities, coordinating between engineering, site teams, and subcontractors to deliver project objectives efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and supervise welding and fabrication activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project schedules and specifications.
* Review and implement welding procedures, codes, and standards, ensuring compliance with relevant quality and safety regulations.
* Liaise with design, engineering, and construction teams to resolve technical issues related to welding and fabrication.
* Conduct inspections, audits, and quality checks to ensure workmanship meets project and industry standards.
* Monitor performance of subcontractors, providing technical guidance and support as required.
* Support project documentation, reporting, and progress tracking related to welding and fabrication works.
* Ensure all work is carried out safely, maintaining compliance with site safety policies and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in welding engineering or welding construction within large-scale industrial or energy projects.
* Strong knowledge of welding codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ISO, BS EN).
* Experience with QA/QC procedures and inspection processes in construction projects.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
* Excellent communication and team coordination skills.
* Relevant welding engineering or construction qualification (e.g., BEng/MEng in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent).
Desirable
* Experience on nuclear, energy, or large infrastructure projects.
* Familiarity with health and safety standards in construction and welding environments.
