Advert You will undertake a two-year apprenticeship leading to professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). Working under the supervision of senior colleagues and an educational supervisor, your responsibilities will include: Dispensary Support Dispense prescriptions and signed orders for medicines, including compliance aids, controlled drugs, and clinical trials, following SOPs. Enter prescription details accurately into the pharmacy system and maintain records. Assist with reception duties and issuing medicines to patients under supervision. Complete final accuracy checks on dispensed medicines in line with apprenticeship standards. Medicines Optimisation Support ward-based services, including medicines reconciliation and assessing patients’ own drugs. Undertake patient counselling on selected medicines under supervision. Purchasing & Distribution Participate in ward top-up systems to maintain stock levels. Assist with purchasing, receiving, and storing medicines safely in line with GDP and WDA principles. Perform stock checks and expiry date monitoring. General Duties Respond to routine queries professionally and escalate when outside scope of practice. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment. Assist with audits, filing, and documentation. Support training of new staff and contribute to service improvements. Participate in weekend, late, and bank holiday rotas as required. Learning & Development Complete all required training, assessments, and portfolio building within agreed timescales. Dedicate 20% off-the-job time for study and maintain regular meetings with your educational supervisor.
