GP with Extended Role
Primary Care - Urgent Care Walk in Service
Flexible Hours.
National Salaried GP scale applies: £77,160 - £115,167 pro rata for a 40‑hour week. Placement depends on previous service.
Fixed‑term posts with Borders Urgent Care Service, including the new GP walk‑in centre at Hawick Community Hospital. Fixed‑term until 31 March 2027 in the first instance.
Responsibilities
The GPwER will provide medical advice, assessment and other urgent medical services in the primary care walk‑in centre in Hawick Community Hospital, at Borders General Hospital, or in other community settings as required.
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team of professional and administrative colleagues to provide a range of unscheduled care services to the public within Borders.
Work hours may reduce to 36 hours per week from 1 April 2026, with a corresponding increase in hourly rate to maintain pay.
Requirements
Applicants must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom or be eligible for sponsorship under the UK Skilled Worker/Health & Care Worker Visa scheme. The role may be subject to criminal record checks and relevant government schemes.
Part‑time posts, if applicable, will be paid pro rata.
