As MWH Treatment’s service to its client, Thames Water, continues to flourish into AMP8, we are looking to strengthen our Engineering team with a Principal Mechanical Engineer. Based in the Thames Water region (Maple Lodge office), you will report directly to the Regional Discipline Lead (Mechanical).
Our challenging programme of work, across a variety of water and wastewater schemes, is expected to be in the region of £400M.

Key responsibilities include:
1. Report to Design Managers, Technical Discipline Lead, Regional Discipline Lead, and Engineering Manager.
2. Produce complex design layouts that are cost-effective, meet specifications, and are feasible for construction and commissioning.
3. Produce and check all design deliverables including specifications, schedules, drawings, and calculations.
4. Collaborate with other disciplines to develop site/plant 3D models.
5. Ensure standard designs and practices are utilized wherever possible.
6. Deliver design outputs within agreed timescales and budgets.
7. Coordinate design outputs across all technical disciplines.
8. Provide estimates and feedback to the Proposals department.
9. Build relationships with construction staff and supply chain to promote buildability and efficiency.
10. Follow procedures to develop and review departmental processes.
11. Maintain and update procedures to ensure departmental efficiency.
12. Coordinate designs with all internal and external disciplines to ensure project integration.
13. Maintain files and records throughout project durations.
14. Ensure customer satisfaction.
15. Chair operability and maintenance workshops with clients to review solutions for operability and maintainability.
16. Promote a customer-centric culture, recognizing customer satisfaction as key to achieving objectives.
17. Assist in supervising and developing staff.
18. Ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
19. Minimize waste from departmental activities.
20. Incorporate environmental considerations into designs.
21. Ensure compliance with CDM 2015 Regulations and health and safety requirements.
