The Role:
Quantity Surveyor – Groundworks
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial and financial performance of a major groundworks and infrastructure package. You will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure cost control, value engineering, and financial success.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the financial management of a major groundworks package.
2. Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts.
3. Manage subcontractor procurement, valuations, and payments.
4. Ensure NEC/JCT contract compliance, identifying risks and opportunities.
5. Produce monthly cost reports and financial statements.
6. Conduct risk analysis and value engineering to maximise cost efficiency.
7. Work closely with site teams to monitor progress and variations.
8. Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and supply chain partners to ensure smooth project delivery.
What We’re Looking For:
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the groundworks sector.
Strong knowledge of cost management, procurement, and contract administration.
Experience working with major projects and large-scale infrastructure packages.
Familiarity with NEC or JCT contracts.
Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and subcontractors.
