£32k + OTE (approx. + £3k in the first year)
Hybrid 3 days in the office 2 days from home

Join Our Expanding Team
We are looking to recruit an Business Development Manager to join the growing team of creative and ambitious individuals. It’s a relaxed, friendly and social place to work with flexitime working hours, hybrid working Home/Office and an informal dress-down office policy. Extensive worldwide travel is involved with the role with all-expenses-paid annual trips to great cities including Miami Milan, Paris etc. There is a lot of autonomy and creative freedom in this position which would suit a self-starter with a lot of initiative. We believe in looking after our people (which is why we stay here for years!) and have regular staff excursions that can involve anything from archery to an Amsterdam away-day to an afternoon in the pub!
Job Description
Reporting to the Advertising Manager, the candidate will be responsible for developing relationships with clients, both existing and new, to maximize magazine sales revenue.
Key Accountabilities
Meeting & exceeding sales targets for the magazine
Generating & developing new business/managing existing database
Liaising externally with clients, over email/telephone/Social and face-to-face meetings, at international industry events
Essential Requirements
Excellent communication skills - email/telephone/Social and face-to-face meetings
Excellent people skills
The ability to work as part of a closely knit team
The ability to work alone and use own initiative
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent sales letter & proposal writing skills
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and a good level of computer literacy
Basic numeracy and literacy skills, educated to GCSE level or above
Desirable Requirements
Ability to deal with objections & close sales
Good negotiation skills and a proven track record in media sales, particularly within B2B publishing
Any additional and relevant qualifications, languages or computer skills
Understanding/knowledge of the hospitality, food & beverage and/or design industries
Personal Attributes
Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and results focused, showing a hunger to reach targets
Personable, professional and presentable, with a confident F2F & telephone manner
Positive & energetic personality
Able to work to tight deadlines and prioritise
Capable of working alongside others and adapting to new challenges
